Our Plan

If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up someplace else.

Our Strategic Plan 2018 to 2021

At the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO our work is guided by the priority areas identified in our Strategic Plan.

We develop our Strategic Plan every three years, informed by UNESCO’s objectives and global priorities, but tailored to the New Zealand context.

Our current Strategic Plan has driven our work over the past three years. The 2022 to 2025 Strategic Plan will be finalised by the end of 2021. The priority areas that we outline on this website are taken from the new plan.

The actions that drive us

Our Strategic Plan is action driven. The following actions are the backbone of our 2018 to 2021 plan.

  1. Engaging New Zealanders with the ideas and work of UNESCO and the New Zealand National Commission
  2. Supporting activities that align with the National Commissions strategic priorities
  3. Strengthening relationships within Aotearoa New Zealand
  4. Contributing to the international community.
