Cherish Peseta

Advisor

Cherish joined the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO in October 2025.

She brings experience in advisory, project delivery, and secretarial support.

Through previous roles with organisations such as Te Taura Whiri i te reo Māori (Māori Language Commission) and Toitū te Whenua (Land Information New Zealand) Cherish has had the privilege of contributing to many kaupapa Māori initiatives that strengthen the revitalisation of te reo Māori in Aotearoa and support in Treaty Advisory.

Cherish is proud of her multicultural whakapapa both Māori and Samoan. Her heritage is a driving force for her mahi in uplifting indigenous knowledge both nationally and internationally.
