His research includes exploring subsistence fisheries in the Pacific by doing a case studies on the island of Mitiaro, Cook Islands. The study weaves together quantitative fisheries science approaches and qualitative measures by understanding the local fisher and fishing dynamics (and traditional knowledge) through an ethnographic approach.
Antony has a PhD in marine biology from the Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
