Call for Nominations for UNESCO Young Professional Programme
We invite young New Zealanders to express their interest in the UNESCO Young Professionals Programme.
How to Apply
Under the Young Professionals Programme, young people will be appointed as UNESCO staff members on an initial fixed-term contract at P1/P2 level. Assignments may be either at UNESCO HQ in Paris or at a Field Office.
The programme seeks to create an enhanced pool of young international professional staff, enriching and diversifying UNESCO.
Applicants must be no older than 32 years of age as at 31 December 2021 and hold an advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) with a specialisation or a major in one of the following areas: Education, Culture, Communications, Social and Human Sciences, Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, Law, International Relations.
Fluent French or English is required. Knowledge of both working languages would be an asset, as would knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish.
New Zealand citizens who would like to be considered by the National Commission for this opportunity are requested to forward an expression of interest plus a full Curriculum Vitae to the Secretariat of the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO (unesco.nz@education.govt.nz) no later than Friday 23 July 2021.
The National Commission will assess the expressions of interest received and select up to 15 applications to be submitted for further consideration by UNESCO Headquarters.
