Regions Outreach sought to reach out, listen and korero with Muslim rangatahi across the country in order to foster social cohesion and a united future for Muslim rangatahi in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The National Islamic Youth Association’s (NIYA) Regions Outreach travelled to towns and cities across the North and South Island in 2023 to korero with Muslim rangatahi. There was a particular focus on ensuring the voices of Muslim rangatahi from smaller towns were heard in order to understand their regions situational aspects, future pathway plans, and tangible ways to incorporate their needs into the NIYA and national Islamic faith-culture framework.
As a result of the Regions Outreach project, a special report has been published outlining the conversations, and learnings that took place in the different regions.
