Ven Rev Dr Hone Kaa

The NZ National Commission for UNESCO has just received word of the passing of Dr Hone Kaa, Archdeacon of Tamaki Makaurau and brother of former Culture Commission Chair, Keri Kaa. Dr Kaa has shown leadership in many areas of UNESCO’s work, but in particular his role in supporting initiatives to advance Maori education and the safe place for children and their families. Dr Kaa showed support for the work done by the NZ National Commission in supporting Maori language initiatives, and the dialogue on the role of religious diversity within the Pacific region.

We send our deepest sympathy to Keri Kaa and all the Kaa Whanau.
